About the Arts Space

I spy with my Little Eyes, also pronounced " I S-phi with my Little Eye" is an interactive geometric visual arts space designed by Malaysian artist Shahrul Jamili. This arts space takes children on a journey as they act as " little spies " to investigate new ways of envisioning and moving through the arts structures. They will also get to re-imagine how space and shapes can be creatively transformed as they climb up over and under!

About the Artist

Shahrul Jamili is a mixed media artist who uses printmaking and sculpting techniques in his work. Through the vibrancy of colours and the array of geometric shapes used in his art pieces, Shahrul endeavours to inspire young children’s appreciation of the intricacies of designs as a maker of objects.

The Golden Ratio

This space takes reference from The Golden Ratio which we find within nature and our bodies. It defines the spiral arrangements that provide equal sunlight in plants, while echoing that thought in the human anatomy. We've designed a shell-like structure using plastic pipes, with interaction points where you could speak into one end of the pipe and hear sounds coming out through the other end. The fun and learning continue through the other geometric structures across the space!

Having Fun In The World Of Shapes

Apart from the geometric structures, we've designed some shape cushions and little interactive elements scattered across the space. Forget about traditional rock climbing when you enter this arts space. Take up the challenge to follow a sequence of shapes that we designed, it will take you straight up to the Baby Stage!
