In celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday, families and friends came together for a joyful weekend on 28 and 29 June 2025 at Mandai Wildlife WEST for the second edition of Wild Day Out.

Held in partnership with The Artground, this special SG60 edition offered a vibrant line-up of activities — from heritage-inspired crafts like Five Stones and natural-dye postcards, to imaginative play performances thoughtfully curated for young children.

Craft Workshop 1 - Flora Fun : Petals & Prints

Create your own Orchid Postcard using nature’s colours! Join us for a fun-filled creative workshop where children can explore the beauty of nature and make their own unique orchid postcard based on Singapore’s national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim! In this hands-on workshop, they will be using natural elements like leaves, petals and other plant elements to extract vibrant colours and design beautiful orchid postcards.

Craft Workshop 2 - Five Stones Fun : Toss ‘n’ plant

Celebrate Singapore’s 60th anniversary with a trip back in time to one of the most cherished traditional games, Five stones! This hands-on workshop invites children to craft their very own set of Five Stones using fabric, various beans and curated art materials.

Performance A - Walking Through The Sound Forest

Join us on an adventurous walk through the forest where we discover nature and encounter several forest animals!

We will travel through the water, grass, a thunderstorm, and a cave before finally enjoying a sunny day out!

The storytelling programme will be accompanied by live music and sound effects, movements and sensory elements, making it an immersive experience for children.

Performance B - Sambar Deer's Mystic Mystery

Separated from its herd at a young age, a Sambar Deer is raised by a local fortune teller, immersing itself in mystic ways and witnessing many uncanny encounters within the depths of Mandai. Join the dance as songs and stories unfold—a touch of fortune, a hint of guidance, and perhaps the discovery of your own spirit animal along the way.

Promenade Dance Performance - Plotterpus Adventure Tours

Some new creatures have been spotted around Mandai Wildlife park. These are Plotterpi. The young plotterpi are venturing out on their own for the first time!
