Sensory Storytelling Programmes
Welcome to our Sensory Storytelling programme , where young children dive into exciting art adventures that nurture creativity. Our playful sensory approach makes learning fun and holistic, refining skills and encouraging expression. Join us for a creativity journey that's packed with fun.
Children will be engaged in integrated learning across different domains on a monthly basis, with the following structure in place:
Creative and Aesthetic Expression Music and movement, drama and aesthetic expression Art promotes self-esteem and self-expression. Children thrive when they learn to trust themselves and communicate their thoughts and feelings through and with art. Singing and dramatisation in a group setting also enable children to learn how to work cooperatively too. These are important life skills to equip our children with. |
Visual Arts Exposure Visual creation integrated with fine motor development Children develop an increased awareness of the key arts elements such as colours, lines, shapes, forms and/or textures through their exploration of the different art techniques. Exposure to techniques such as drawing, printing, sculpting/moulding and painting allow children to refine their fine motor skills which are critical for the development of eye-hand coordination and dexterity. |
---|---|
Language arts engagement and literacy development Popular children’s books will be introduced, integrated with song/rhyme Through sensory storytelling, children not only learn to pick up new vocabulary but also develop listening and attention skills whilst building and using language. Songs and rhymes encourage speech and language development in the little ones in a natural way. |
Multi-Faceted Learning Consolidation of the key learning concepts The integrated and sensorial learning further contribute to children’s fine motor development and understanding about cause and effect. Most importantly, the development of social and emotional competencies for children at this age will be emphasised during the weekly sessions. |

With the guidance of our facilitators, children will engage in hands-on culinary activities, learning about the ingredients, mixing, and shaping the kuih. This session is designed to spark curiosity and provide a sense of accomplishment as children see and taste the fruits of their labour.
But the adventure doesn't stop there. While the kuih cooks to perfection, children will embark on a sensory journey simulating a day at the beach. They will feel textured fabric mimicking waves, hear rhythmic ocean sounds from a wave drum, and navigate a sensory landscape adorned with draped sarongs. These activities not only stimulate but also ignite their imaginations, transporting them to a seaside adventure right within our storytelling setting.
For a full experience of The Amazing Sarong, consider booking both the Let's Make Kuih and Batik Painting sessions. For the latter session, beside batik painting, the children will also engage in gross motor skills like tiptoeing, crawling, and running as they search for Ibu's missing cat. Along the way, they might discover fresh flowers, adding another sensory layer with delightful scents and textures.
